Am I A Good Candidate For Sedation Dentistry?
Almost everyone is a good candidate for sedation dentistry. If you want to feel more comfortable during your procedure, sedation dentistry is right for you.
However, some medical conditions and medications can interfere with sedation, so you’ll need to meet with Dr. Austin to make sure you’re a good candidate.
What Does Sedation Dentistry Feel Like?
If you choose nitrous oxide (laughing gas), you’ll feel “floaty” and less connected to what’s happening around you, and you will feel happy or even giggly. However, you’ll be fully conscious and responsive to commands.
If you choose oral conscious sedation, you will feel relaxed, sleepy, and groggy. It’s common for patients to fall asleep during their procedure, and even forget most or all of what happened during their appointment.
Is Sedation Dentistry Safe?
Yes. Sedation dentistry is completely safe. Thanks to our training and years of experience, you can be sedated safely at Joshua Austin, DDS & Associates.
